Photo: Hindustan Times)New Delhi: England players were the toast of the 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL) players’ auction on Monday with all-rounder Ben stokes becoming the costliest-ever foreign player to play in the T20 league. He was bought at a massive price of Rs14.50 crore by Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) outbidding Mumbai Indians, Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad. ■ Stokes’ compatriot, left-arm fast bowler Tymal Mills was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for the next highest Rs12 crore price. ■ Although not high as England players, young players from Afghanistan too made a splash with leg-spinner Rashid Khan Arman bought at Rs4 crore from Sunrisers Hyderabad.
