The rankings placed IISc at 152 in 2016, down from 147 last year. IIT Delhi was ranked 185, lower than its 179th position last year. University of Delhi was placed in the 501-550 category, and University of Calcutta in the 651-700 category. Panjab University, University of Mumbai, University of Pune and Banaras Hindu University were placed in the 701+ category. Among Asian institutes, National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University were ranked 12th and 13th, respectively.
