IEDs, anti-personnel mines detected, flammable chemicals seized at Naikhongchhari border


DHAKA, April 10, 2026 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has detected improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and anti-personnel mines along the Naikhongchhari border in Bandarban and seized a significant quantity of flammable chemical substances in separate operations. During the drive, the patrol team spotted 4-5 suspected individuals. Upon searching the area, BGB recovered five anti-personnel mines, five suspected IEDs, one metal detector, one solar panel, dry food items, a mobile phone, a power bank, and civilian clothing. Faizul Kabir, Commanding Officer of Naikhongchhari Battalion, stated that BGB remains on high alert to address multidimensional security challenges along the Bangladesh-Myanmar border. The seized chemical substances are being sent to the Chattogram Divisional Chemical Laboratory for test.
