ID card office scrubbed clean due to infected visitor

An HKID card office in West Kowloon was closed today after a resident who visited tested postive for the coronavirus. It will resume services tomorrow. The Immigration Department said it was notified by Centre for Health Protection late afternoon today that a person who came to the West Kowloon Smart Identity Card Replacement Centre at about 10:00am on July 14, tested positive for coronavirus disease. The person had been there for a relatively brief period and the staff who handled the relevant case as well as others were not close contact, the department said. But the center was closed immediately for cleaning and disinfection.
