NURSES and health workers from San Lazaro Hospital held an online “silent” protest on Friday against their “execrable” conditions as they fight the Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19). But now, it hurts to think that we are taking care of our fellow health workers. Mendoza added that the Department of Health and the government of President Rodrigo Duterte were “numb and deaf” to the demands of health workers. In a text message to The Manila Times, the management of San Lazaro Hospital said it has more than enough supply of PPE and that the DoH has continually provided the items as the need arises. It also said that the hospital was preparing for the expansion of their Covid-19 wards in order to accommodate health workers who are infected.
