ICC forced to withdraw two-tier Test proposal

3 Any structural change to be passed by the ICC needs a clear 2/3rd majority. The International Cricket Council (ICC)'s ambitious proposal of restructuring test cricket into a two tier model has been taken off the table. An ICC statement following the two-day cricket structures workshop in Dubai confirmed the same. The ICC statement makes no mention of the test restructuring proposal and reads, "There is an appetite from the ten full members for more context around all three formats of the game and we have consensus on a range of areas. This includes the details of ODI and T20 structures and principles around Test cricket schedules, which include the concept of a Test Champion play off every two years, and the opportunity for more nations to be involved."
