This has led to many wondering as to whether the once strong supporter of retired President Mwai Kibaki has formally joined Cord or not. Narc-Kenya Party leader Martha Karua has said she will be vying for the country's top seat in the upcoming general election. Since she lost in the 2013 polls, Karua has on several occasions been supporting opposition's stand on many issues with at times being seen together during press conferences. Karua who unsuccessfully vied for the seat in the 2013 polls dismissed reports that she could join and support the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) candidate.
