I would dearly love a repeat of one of the greatest games of football I have ever seen when Newcastle play Fulham at Craven Cottage in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday night. The scoreline finished up after 90 minutes of see-saw football Fulham 4 Newcastle United 5. United had icons like Wor Jackie, Bobby Mitchell, Ronnie Simpson, Vic Keeble, and Bob Stokoe who won the FA Cup as a player with Newcastle and as a manager with Sunderland. On the opening day United slaughtered Villa 5-1 at SJP and we were eagerly looking forward to Champions League football. Now a few short months later Newcastle are out of everything bar the FA Cup and facing a journey to Villa on Tuesday night for the return with PL results on the slide.
