It was just another boring pandemic Friday when an email popped up: Would I like to test-drive the swanky Mazda CX-9 to the TIFF gala premiere of Bruised, Halle Berry’s directorial debut? Off we zoomed to the premiere, Ryan revelling in the scent of the supple Nappa leather upholstery. We arrived at the TIFF drive-in, our car emerging from an Insta-perfect light tunnel, the twinkling cityscape a perfect backdrop to the big screen.
