OPINION: As-salāmu ʿalaykum - peace be upon you, to the Muslim community of Christchurch, of Canterbury, of New Zealand. I'm sorry that even this week, there have been reports that Muslim women on the streets of Christchurch faced hateful taunts. But I will gladly give it up next week, the week after, or whenever you feel the time is right. It won't happen automatically, of course, but I hope that, together, we can make it happen. I fervently hope it will also continue to change hearts and enhance unity.
