MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has courted controversy by announcing that his party will provide legal aid to the remaining 5 suspects. In Hyderabad this week NIA busted a “terror module” with Islamic State links. Depending on their respective political affiliations, party spokespersons are accusing either Owaisi or Singh of going overboard. This for example is Owaisi’s self-defence: “What was your (NIA) role in Malegaon case, you said Pragya had played no role, but then court had to intervene. But those attacking him for helping the youth accused of an IS terror plot should remember how he’s also been attacked for condemning IS as a blot on Islam.
