I can only empathise with Hassan, because there could be other great ball players, which Hassan was, but there couldn’t be another Shahid. Shahid cannot be termed as once-in-a-generation player, because the truth is players like him can not be born again. At his peak, and it lasted almost 8 to 10 years, Shahid had no peers in the Hockey world. And for that, the prayers of the nation, indeed the hockey fans worldwide, would be with him. I used to play hockey for my college team when he was at his peak.
