Joan Morris, photographed before her experiences at the Coastal View rest home, has been in hospital since June 8. David Morris was horrified to be told his wife had been found unconscious at a rest home hours before he arrived to pick her up. Joan Morris, 77, is legally blind with weakness on one side after previous strokes as well as mobility problems due to a fall in 2017. She had lived in the rest home section of Coastal View Lifestyle Village at Nelson for about a year. He said his wife would not be returning to Coastal View, and he had laid a complaint with the Health and Disability Commissioner.
