Judge Syed Sadiqul Islam Talukdar of the District and Sessions Judge Court in Satkhira declared the verdict at 11am on Thursday. After the testimony of nine witnesses in the case, the court passed the death sentence against the accused in absentia. According to the case statement, Sabur strangled Romecha to death following a family dispute on August 24, 2012. Later, the victim’s brother filed a case with Kolaroa police station in connection with the killing. Afterwards, Kolaroa police station Sub-Inspector Fakir Azizur Rahman, the investigation officer of the case, filed a charge sheet against Sabur.
