Steven Ross was being escorted from HMP Addiewell to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at around 5.20pm on Wednesday when he fled. Members of the public are advised not to approach the 33-year-old but to contact police immediately. It is understood staff were threatened by the prisoner but there were no serious injuries.
