KOTA KINABALU: Hundreds of people gathered at the Sacred Heart Cathedral here today to pay their final respects to Reverend Father Fundes Motiung, who was a well-respected figure in Sabah. It was reported that Penampang Umno Chief Datuk John Ambrose presented the aid to St Michael’s Church priest Father Wilfred Atin, while witnessed by Father Fundes. Ambrose said Najib had approved the RM830,000 allocation following the application by Father Fundes to upgrade the churches and facilities. Born on Nov 19, 1965 in Kampung Kepayan, Father Fundes received his secondary education at SM La Salle. Last Sunday, Father Fundes slipped and fell in the bathroom as he was preparing to attend Mass.
