Forest department officials told The Hindu that the death of the monkeys started a week ago and continues. Villagers of Adampur first discovered the dead monkeys after which they alerted the forest department officials. We have sent the bodies of monkeys to the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) in Bareilly,” said the Veterinary Officer of Amroha, Dr. Tejpal Singh. Meanwhile as the news of mysterious death of monkeys spread residents of villages went into panic mode as they feared spread of some mysterious epidemic.
