The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), on Thursday, identified torture as a violation of fundamental human rights and vowed to stamp it out of the country. The NHRC boss, who lamented the use of torture during investigations said, his commission is ready to partner with relevant agencies to stamp out torture in Nigeria and establish rehabilitation centres for victims of torture. In his speech, the Director of Discipline of the Police Service Commission, Mr Tijani Mohammed, identified torture as evil and should be eliminated from society.
