A newly-established export hub hopes to offer business support so the Nelson region’s key exports – such as wine – remain the toast of our economy. The Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce, with the support of Port Nelson, has formed the Port Nelson export hub to connect local businesses and intermediaries that can assist with the export process. As well as networking events, the export hub will facilitate workshops, webinars, training, case studies and guest speakers. NTCC chief executive Ali Boswijk said the idea stemmed from a desire to help exporters navigate what can be a difficult procedure. Port Nelson chief executive Hugh Morrison said he was pleased to help facilitate knowledge sharing and provide expertise for the exporting industry.
