Food and meal packages are the second most popular subscription in the UKCast away from March, we Brits clung on to civilisation the only way we knew how — through gin subscriptions, weekly recipe boxes and monthly deliveries of chocolate brownies. According to a survey by Barclaycard, the average British household is now signed up to seven subscriptions. The pandemic is likely to have prompted quite a few of those; during April spend on digital content and subscriptions increased by 50.2 per cent year on year. It is an economy that is now worth £323 million in the UK. Although entertainment services such as Spotify, Netflix and Disney+ are the most popular subscriptions, food and meal packages are second on the list.
