The Republican plan, named the American Health Care Act, offers tax credits based on age for people earning that kind of income or less. If you were a little younger, you might be able to go on your parents’ health plan. Obamacare allowed adult children to stay in a family plan until age 26, and the Republican plan wouldn’t take that way. But the Republican plan would eliminate the penalties, which means that your company may be less likely to keep providing health insurance. But the Republican plan would allow insurers to charge you five times the price for young adults.
