The Star asked all 12 major boards in the GTA how many unvaccinated staff continue to work with students. Only the Toronto District School Board, the York Region District School Board and the Halton District School Board provided the Star with data around unvaccinated staff working with kids. But he noted that the total number of unvaccinated staff working with kids in the Halton and York public boards is proportionally “a lot higher” than that of the TDSB (2.35 per cent versus 5.05 and 5.58 per cent, respectively, out of all staff working with kids). There are also likely other groups like this,” wrote Julia Seeratan, a spokesperson for the York Catholic District School Board. Unvaccinated staff continuing to work in schools must complete rapid antigen testing three times per week, as per provincial requirements.
