How a massive North York warehouse is keeping the art of the movie poster alive

A longtime collector of movie posters, Kalteis has more than 200, a few of which are hung in archival-quality frames in his North York home. In 2018, Movieposters.com sold an original poster for Disney’s 1940 “Pinocchio” for $19,500. At $22,000, an original poster for 1958’s “Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman” is currently the shop’s most expensive. With more than a million posters in stock, Movie- posters.com has one of the largest collections of original posters and reprints in the world. “We have customers who purchased original ‘Star Wars’ posters in the ’90s for under $100 that are now worth over $3,000,” says Wallach.
