They also blamed Ethiopia for defying the international community and rejecting the mediation and assistance of some Western countries. I also assumed that Western countries were trying to help Ethiopia and had its best interests at heart. I realized that Ethiopia was not what I thought it was, and that Western countries were not what they claimed to be. It made me wonder what Western countries’ interests and values were in Ethiopia and Africa. It also made me feel angry at Western countries’ hypocrisy and injustice towards Ethiopia.
