But just before signing a contract, he received an email from a friend saying that 94.2 percent of journalists and editors are on LinkedIn. This expanded his database to 6,000 and more than $200,000 in sales in Year One. “I learned that it was much better to connect with journalists first; then contributors instead of with editors,” Pirouz says. So I would connect with journalists first, then contributors, then editors as it was always harder to get through by talking to editors alone.”
