Organizations such as Persian Women in Tech (PWIT) serve to continue empowering one another. According to Sepideh Nasiri, founder and CEO of PWIT, there is still a lack of women participating in the tech industry, and we need to change that. They hosted a casual wine and cheese gathering to gauge interest in a tech group focused on Persian women. The numbers continued to grow at each subsequent meeting and, thus, Persian Women in Tech was born. Today PWIT has chapters in six cities, and they have plans to be in 16 cities by the end of 2018.
