If, say, the Gunners win the Europa League and come sixth, and Spurs win the Champions League and come fifth, then Chelsea would miss out on next season's Champions League even if they come fourth . And the same would be true if Arsenal and Chelsea swapped places, of course, with the Blues winning the Europa and coming sixth, and Arsenal finishing fourth.
