David White/stuff NZ Property Investors Federation president Andrew King has argued against the government’s recent housing policy changes. He found that unlike markets such as the United States, New Zealand owner-occupiers could not seek tax relief from mortgage interest payments, but property investors could, which significantly reduced investors’ tax burden.
