Good morning: The housing market had its busiest month for at least a decade in July as the value of property sales reached a record £37 billion, according to a survey released overnight by Rightmove. Agreed property sales rose by 48 per cent compared with the same month a year ago and were 20 per cent higher than the previous record recorded by Rightmove’s monthly survey in March 2017. The momentum has continued in August, with the latest weekly figure showing a 60 per cent rise in sales. Before its annual general meeting Cranswick has updated investors on first-quarter trading.
