Share TweetBy Charissa Luci-AtienzaThe House of Representatives is set to approve this week on third and final reading a bill, authorizing the Games and Amusement Board (GAB) to regulate online cockfighting betting. House Bill 8910, which was approved on second reading last week, seeks to strengthen and expand the authority of GAB, which is currently under the Office of the President. The GAB has been seeking the enactment of the bill into law and bracing for sponsorship of counterpart measure in the Senate. Mitra noted that, under the originally proposed bill, GAB will also be tasked to keep an eye on the maintenance of theme parks, and regulate beauty pageants, and concerts.
