Hongkongers flood to beaches as temperature hit 31.3 degrees Celsius this afternoon – the hottest day so far this year recorded at the observatory's Tsim Sha Tsui headquarters. Temperature in many districts reach 33 degrees. It was 34.8 degrees in Tai Po, 33.2 degrees in Shek Kong and Sheung Shui, and 33 degrees in Yuen Long. The observatory forecast that temperature will go up to 33 degrees this Friday and Saturday. Although no lifeguards work at beaches under the pandemic, many people still go under the heat.
