The Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi stated in Parliament today (07) that all hospitals in the plantation sector will be taken over by the government through a cabinet paper. The Minister said that she will pay special attention to these hospitals in the future and that she will work as the Minister of Health to develop them. The Minister was responding to an oral question raised by Parliamentarian Vadivel Suresh regarding the estate hospitals. The Minister also stated that she has focused on purchasing ambulances with a portion of the funds received by the COVID Fund. The Minister also said that attention would be paid to the recruitment of Tamil speaking midwives to the hospitals in the plantation sector.
