The EU has revealed its plan to kick-start the continent's ailing tourism industry in time for the summer holidays. Transport including plane journeys should be restarted 'as a matter of priority', the European Commission said Wednesday in advice to the bloc's 27 member states. 'We will have a summer tourist season,' the EU's economic commissioner Paolo Gentiloni insisted ahead of the announcement, 'but with security measures'. European Commission executive vice-president Margrethe Vestager told reporters: 'This is not going to be a normal summer, not for any of us. Germany's warning against all non-essential tourist travel abroad runs until at least June 14.
