The police force had planned on sending its former public relations chief and other officers to the UK to undergo a year-long training programme. The Guardian reported on Saturday the government barred UK military personnel from training members of the city’s police force and that both the British Army and the Royal Air Force put on hold the drill instructor programmes they run for the force.
