Police have arrested a homemaker in a case filed over torturing an eleven-year-old domestic worker in Savar’s Rashaon area on Wednesday. The detained Shimu Akter is wife of Saif Mia, a cloth trader and resident of Savar municipal area. The victim Hosne Ara, hailing from Mymensing’s Goforgaon upazila, had been working in the house for about nine months. The housewife is said to have beaten the child every now and then over trifling issues. Victim’s mother Jahanara Begum filed a case over the torture Wednesday morning with Savar police station.
