Her Facebook group, named North Devon and Torridge Housing Crisis, has gained a following of more than 1,100 members in just four weeks. Since creating the group, Emma said she had been approached by members detailing their experiences. North Devon has always been very community based, but more money is coming to the area and it’s pushing local people out. An in-person meeting for the group will also be held at Castle Centre, Barnstaple, on September 2, 7pm-9pm, with MPs, councillors and North Devon residents being invited. Emma said: "At the moment, I believe the housing crisis is being brushed under the carpet in North Devon because we aren't shouting loud enough.
