DHAKA, Apr 9, 2026 (BSS) - The Ministry of Home Affairs has formulated comprehensive law enforcement and security arrangements for the upcoming Bangla New Year, as well as for the traditional New Year celebrations of various ethnic communities, including the Chakma, Marma, Tripura, and Garo. Speaking at the meeting, the home secretary emphasized the importance of ensuring a festive, peaceful, and orderly environment across the country. Officials outlined a series of coordinated initiatives involving law enforcement and administrative agencies to ensure that all celebrations conclude smoothly by the evening. Special security arrangements will be implemented at prominent locations in the capital, including Dhaka University, Ramna Park, Suhrawardy Udyan, Hatirjheel, and Rabindra Sarobar. The meeting further underscored the importance of close coordination among local administration, law enforcement agencies, cultural organisations, and volunteers to effectively manage crowds and maintain overall safety during the festivities.
