Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Sunday announced that a new law for the Bangladesh Police will be enacted considering the current situation. The minister also said work is underway to draft Bangladesh Police Act aimed at turning the force more people friendly and service oriented. Fakhrul wanted to know whether a full-fledged law would be enacted immediately to prevent chaos in police and to ensure transparency. However, in case of negligence or violation of law by any police member in discharging professional duties, action is taken as per the prevailing rules, he said. The minister also highlighted the various laws and regulations that are effective in maintaining the internal discipline of the police.
