The HnP’s congressional and gubernatorial candidates also took Davao City and the provinces of Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental and Compostela Valley by storm, but had to endure painful defeats in the congressional and gubernatorial races in Davao del Norte and Davao del Sur. In Davao Oriental, HnP bets Nelson Dayanghirang and Nino Sotero Uy Jr. also run unopposed for governor and vice governor. In nearby Davao del Sur, the Cagas family also breezed through the elections with Gov. In Dinagat Island, Alan 1 Ecleo of the Ecleo clan secured the seat of the lone congressional district by a slim margin.
