The 154-year-old Risingholme Community Centre in Opawa, Christchurch, has reopened its doors after undergoing quake and arson repairs. Plans had just been finalised to repair the earthquake-damaged Risingholme homestead when an arsonist struck, almost ending hopes the Christchurch building would survive. But the decision was made to push on and save the Opawa building after the fire and now, three years later, it is reopening.
