Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Clinton is right to stress investment in STEM learning for younger workers (although her opposition to charter schools, which are successful in this arena, is baffling). Clinton’s answers may be insufficient, but at least she understands that the election is about the future, not Trump’s twisted nostalgia. Trump is offering snake oil; Clinton is offering weak tea. And she is correct to make this election, like every election, about the future.
