Highway closed for several hours after truck rolls, spilling tomatoesSUPPLIED State Highway 65, the Shenandoah Highway, was closed on Wednesday morning for several hours after a truck crash left tomatoes strewn across the road. A truck load of squashed tomatoes littered on a busy southern highway took "some time" to clear. A police spokeswoman said a truck carrying a "random combination" of tomatoes and hydrogen peroxide rolled on State Highway 65, the Shenandoah Highway, at 12.24am on Wednesday. Fire and Emergency New Zealand was at the scene helping clean up the chemical spill on Wednesday morning, she said. The affected road is part of the alternative State Highway 1 Picton to Christchurch route.
