Giving a sneak preview into the 2016 Manifesto of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of its launch Saturday in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo region, Mahama, who is seeking a second term said students “students will receive tablets that have all their core subjects on the tablet. If the pilot is successful, the programme shall be expanded.”Mahama assured that a lot will be seen under the education sector once Ghanaians renew his mandate on December 7, 2016. For instance, he said the NDC government from 2017 will establish a new College of Education to specialise in training instructors to teach in vocational institutions. He said his next administration will appoint a deputy minister under Education who will be mandated to spearhead transformation in the vocational sector to make it more vibrant.
