IS the smart parking system that the Penang government intends to implement only an option, or is everyone expected to “bow” to it once implemented? Seniors, especially, tend not to have them, and if they do, they usually use them only to make/receive calls and send/receive text messages. Besides, some of my elderly relatives, although good drivers still, have trembling fingers which make touch screens their enemy. Maybe the government wants to make Penang the most high-tech or modernised among all the states, but please put yourselves in others’ shoes before implementing anything. Admittedly, it would be unfair to the younger generations if the smart parking system is abandoned for the sake of the elderly.
