The news was contained in a statement issued by the Ministry on Friday, March 27, 2026. "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to inform the general public ofthe temporary closure of the Accra International Conference (AICC) with immediate effect to allow for scheduled renovations aimed at ensuring the safety and long-term functionality of the facility", it stated. The Ministry further disclosed that the reopening date,"will be communicated to the general public in due course." AICC is a prominent venue located in Accra, known for hosting major conferences, trade exhibitions, and diplomatic summits.
