19 Mar 2021| 05:50am ISTOrders issued regarding sale & transport of liquorTeam HeraldPANJIM: The District Magistrates (DM) of both districts and the Department of Finance (Revenue and Control) have issued prohibitory orders restricting the sale of liquor in light of the upcoming elections in the State. The North DM issued orders restricting sale of liqour in jurisdiction of municipal council areas, Corporation of City of Panaji (CCP) and village panchayats going for by-elections, from 6 am to 9 pm on the day of poll on March 20, 2021 and from 6 am to till end of counting of votes on March 22, 2021. The South District DM issued similar orders restricting sale of liquor in the jurisdiction of municipal areas, village panchayats and Navelim ZP going for by-elections, from 5 pm on March 18, 21 till 9 pm and then on March 20, 2021 from 8 am till the end of counting of votes on March 22, 2021. The licensed premises having licenses for ‘Bar and Restaurant’ may be allowed to keep the restaurant open for serving food only. However, the Bar counter will be closed and no liquor will be allowed to serve on the said days.
