Police said that the duo got trapped under the debris when a portion of the house they lived in collapsed around 5.30 am on Thursday. It took almost three hours to rescue the woman from under the debris. There was water logging on several arterial roads, lanes and bylanes in central and north Kolkata. Water logging was also reported from the port area in western part of the city. Many rivers were flowing above the danger level and water has entered several villages inundating large areas.
