Severe heat wave conditions will continue in many parts of the country over the next couple of days especially in Rajasthan and several parts of north and central India, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). “Maximum temperatures are very likely to rise gradually by 2-4°C over major parts of northwest India during next three to four days. No significant change in maximum temperatures likely over rest of the country during next two to three days,” the IMD said on June 2 in its five-day forecast on till June 7. Maximum temperatures were up by 5.1°C to 1.6°C above normal on Saturday. At the same time, heavy rains is very likely at isolated places across the North East, parts of South India and coastal areas.
