Actor Bill Maynard who was best known for playing lovable rogue Greengrass in ITV show Heartbeat has died in hospital aged 89 after falling from his mobility scooter and breaking his hip. Maynard, who appeared in 155 episodes of Heartbeat, had suffered with health problems in recent years and was using the scooter after having several strokes.
