Tū Ora Compass Health chief executive Martin Hefford has confirmed nearly 1 million patients' details may have been hacked. Stuff on Saturday revealed Tū Ora Compass Health - the primary health organisation (PHO) for Wellington, Kāpiti, and Wairarapa - had its computer files hacked. The reason for the hack and the amount of personal data breached was unclear though Tū Ora stressed private GP files would not have been accessed. Tu Ora Compass Health last week confirmed anyone enrolled in a medical centre in the Wellington, Kāpiti, and Wairarapa region between 2002 and 2019 could be affected by the hack. PHOs held individual data such as medical centre enrolment information including names, ages, ethnicities, and addresses.
